Metallica
Metallica is an American heavy metal band that formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, Metallicas original lineup consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, and bassist Ron McGovney. Mustaine and McGovney were later replaced by Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton respectively. In September 1986, Metallicas tour bus skidded out of control and flipped, which resulted in Burton being crushed under the bus and killed. Jason Newsted replaced him less than two months later. Newsted left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Robert Trujillo in 2003.
Metallicas early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed them as one of the “Big Four” of the thrash metal subgenre alongside Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. The band earned a growing fan base in the underground music community and critical acclaim, with the 1986 release Master of Puppets described as one of the most influential and “heavy” thrash metal albums. The band achieved substantial commercial success with its selftitled 1991 album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience.
In 2000, Metallica was among several artists who filed a lawsuit against Napster for sharing the bands copyrightprotected material for free without the band members consent. A settlement was reached, and Napster became a paytouse service. Despite reaching number one on the Billboard 200, the release of St. Anger alienated many fans with the exclusion of guitar solos and the “steelsounding” snare drum. A film titled Some Kind of Monster documented the recording process of St. Anger.

Description:UillitinaB is a set of Uilleann pipes (Irish Bagpipes) chanter and drones in the form of an English Concertina pitched in the key of B. It is extremely easy to play and has a very authentic sound.

The Uilleann pipes are a complex bellows blown bagpipe that is commonly used for traditional Irish music. It is used quite often in movie soundtracks with Irish themes because of it’s very unique sound.
The standard “concert” set of Uilleann pipes is in the key of D. UillitinaB is three halfsteps lower, in the key of B. Sets pitched lower than D are called “flat” sets and are generally played as solo instruments.
You can play melodies using the chanter sound by pressing the buttons, and turn the drones on and off by touching the drone puck icon at the lower right of the screen. The balance between the drones and the chanter may be adjusted on the settings page (touch the “i” icon).

Since UillitinaB is polyphonic, you can create virtual regulators for chords just by holding down more than one button at a time. This is particularly nice when playing slow airs.
When Charles Wheatsone designed the English concertina, he set it up to match sheet music, the right side is the notes between the lines and the left side is the notes on the lines.
Because English Concertinas play the same note both on a push or a pull of the bellows, it is a very easy instrument to play on the iPhone or iPod Touch. You simply touch the buttons on the screen to play the notes. The spacing is exactly the same the real instrument.
To play, hold the iPhone or iPod Touch between your thumb and little fingers of both hands, exactly like a real English Concertina, and press the buttons with your index and middle fingers. Scales alternate between the fingers of the right hand. Notes are higher in pitch as you move from the outside to the middle of the screen.
The sounds are recorded from my personal set of Uilleann pipes and are of extremely high quality. All samples are tuned for perfect just intonation consonance with the drones and each other.

Another Woodwind Instrument from the creators of iDuduk and iZurna, this instrument simply brings you the missing sound of the Armenian Culture.
The Shvee (Armenian: Շվի) (pronounced shvee) which means whistle in Armenian, is a woodwind instrument with a labium mouth piece. Commonly made of wood (apricot, buxus, ebony ) or bamboo and up to 12 inches in length, it typically has a range of 2 octaves. The shvi is up to 12 inches in length and is made of reed, the bark of willows, or walnut wood. It has 8 holes on the front, 7 of which are used while playing, and 1 thumbhole. One octave is obtained by blowing normally into the shvi and a second octave is attained by blowing with slightly more force. The lower octave has a timbre similar to a recorder whereas the higher octave sounds similar to a piccolo or flute. Typically, most Armenian duduk or zurna players learn the shvee before moving on to either instrument.
The tuning is basically untempered and diatonic, though chromatic notes may be obtained by partially covering the finger holes. The iShvee™ LT version does not support the chromatic note option because the iPhone being an electronic device has its limitations, therefore we have only included the C major scale starting from low middle C going up to high D in the second octave which will also make the application more consumer friendly.
